Mr. Lars Levy is the Administrative Director for all of the treatment services for the Sixteenth Judicial District Drug Courts in southeast Louisiana. This includes five courts:  two Adult Courts (one a National Association of Drug Court Professional Mentor Court), two Family Focus Juvenile Drug Courts and a newly funded Reentry Program.  In addition to his duties as Administrative Director, he has been active in  acquiring funding within the state of Louisiana and actively pursuing grants at local, state, and national levels. Mr. Levy  has been involved in drug abuse treatment since 1983.  He has held offices throughout the treatment field in Louisiana.  He has served as Treasurer, President-Elect, President and President Emeritus of the Louisiana Association of Substance Abuse Counselor and Trainers. He is currently the State Representative for treatment to the Congress of State Drug Court Association for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals; and is the elected Treasurer for the Louisiana Association of Drug Court Professionals.  Additionally,  he is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the National Association of Drug Court Professionals.   Mr. Levy holds credentials which include certification as a NCAC level II, National Certified Addiction Counselor; BCSAC, Board Certified Substance Abuse Counselor; BCCGC, Board Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor; RCS, Registered Counselor Supervisor and an Advance Credential from the Louisiana Counseling Association (LASCAT).  Mr. Levy is also the editor for the Louisiana Association of Drug Court Professionals Quarterly Newsletter and has previously written  articles on Drug Court for The Counselor magazine (July/August 2000).
