Phase I:
This is the most intensive phase of treatment and
possibly the most critical. Within the first 14 days of the
program, a client can decide to opt our , that is to
discontinue participation in the program.
Also, this phase is most often the time when referrals to
detox or inpatient treatments are needed for clients who
have difficulty achieving abstinence.
This phase sets the tone for the rest of the program, as
the client begins to learn about responsibilty, recovery,
employment, and re-socialization.
Phase II:
Phase II clients have stabilized and achieved some on-
going sobriety. They are attending AA/NA meetings re-
gulary and are working with a 12 Step Sponsor.
Also, this phase is most often the time when referrals to
detox or inpatient treatments are needed for clients who
have difficulty achieving abstinence.
Gender and cultural specific issues affecting long-term
recovery are addressed in special groups. This work
continues throughout treatment. The work really begins
here.
